INOVA Federal Credit Union President/CEO, Dallas Bergl, receives 2008 Professional Achievement Award
Elkhart, IN – The Indiana Credit Union League, the trade association representing Indiana Credit Unions, has awarded this year’s prestigious Professional Achievement Award to Dallas Bergl, President and CEO of INOVA Federal Credit Union. The Professional Achievement Award recipient is chosen from nominees throughout Indiana. The Professional Achievement Award was created in 1990 to recognize paid Credit Union Managers/CEOs who have selflessly given of themselves to promote the credit union ideal and better the credit union movement in Indiana. The award will be presented during the League’s Annual Convention in September.
Mr. Bergl has worked in the credit union industry for two decades, holding positions from Collections Manager to CEO. During his career as a CEO, Mr. Bergl has successfully worked with the Board of Directors of three separate credit unions to improve their financial position, organizational structure, regulatory ratings, product offerings, grassroots political activism, and financial education.
He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, The Federal Credit Union magazine, and The Credit Union Journal. He has been asked to speak at national conferences for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), Credit Union Executive Society (CUES), National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU), The Institute for Credit Union Advancement (ICUA), and CU Conferences. Credit unions under his direction have received national awards such as the NAFCU Paul Revere Award for Grassroots Political Activism, CRI Technology Award, the NAFCU Innovations Showcase Award, The Golden Mirror Award, and several others.
In addition to his responsibilities at INOVA FCU, he also serves on the NAFCU Governmental Affairs Committee, The Indiana Credit Union League’s Governmental Affairs Committee, The Credit Union Centers of Indiana, LLC Board of Directors, Elkhart Centre Inc., and Elkhart’s 2010 Coalition. He has also served on former Congressman Chris Chocola’s Finance Committee, the board of the St. Joseph Valley Chapter of Credit Unions, NAFCU’s Political Action Committee and other charitable organizations.
